Everyone who knows me knows that I am not a morning person. But guess what? This past Saturday, your girl woke up at 6:30 AM to participate in a 5K walk. I am so glad I did because not only did it get me out of my not-a-morning-person streak, but it also pushed me past my introverted tendencies big time.
This November, I want to encourage you to do the same!
It's time to step out of your comfort zone to find out what's been waiting for you on the other side. Below are the steps to take to overcome whatever challenge you might decide to overcome:
1- Pick Your Challenge. My challenge was waking up at 6:35 a.m. to walk 5K with strangers. What's yours?
2- Get Your Game Plan On. Before you dive in, get your head in the game!!! Trust me, a little mental prep goes a long way and makes it easier when it's time to take the initial step.
3- Buddy up because you're not an island, and support is always welcomed, even if it's someone to cheer you on as you make steps. Both my son and I would have given up if we didn't have each other's support, especially when our legs started feeling jiggly :-)
4- Celebrate yourself and shout it out. One thing I realize is we don't celebrate each other enough. And that's why we don't know how to receive accolades from others or celebrate others. Let's change that!!!
So what's your November challenge going to be? Go to the comment section and let me know so I can cheer you up!!!
Until next time,
Emma

For 2024, I will have to work on point 3….it is hard for me to buddy up with new people, because I dislike cheap convo and currently I am not comfortable about telling my story. What a dilemma🤷🏾♀️
Congratulations !! 5k would be a real challenge for me👏🏽👏🏽.
